We've been friends for... hm, maybe 5 years. We spent many hours walking around Portland, drinking coffee, and talking non-stop. It's the kind of friendship where you know you can say just about anything to this person, and they'll understand how you mean it. Or, if she doesn't, she lets me know right away.:) It's hard to find a friend like that... you don't just find them, it takes time to get there. So it's a bummer she's still in Portland and we've hardly seen each other over the past 2 years.
